Prepping for my 1st Daring Cook Challenge

This is my first challenge. Do I dare say I am scared to death! Daring cook to say the least! Wow what a first challenge! It sounds interesting, I have never eaten or tried anything like this. When I mentioned to my husband that I joined a cooking challenge I seen his face actually light up, not kidding. Wink I wanted to learn some thing new and why not jump in with both feet! Even if the knees are knocking. I am looking forward to this challenge!! I need to go read my challenge recipe all again, maybe a few times and do my research. I cannot share with you, my readers, the recipe until after the challenge has been completed by everyone. I believe that date is February 14th. Stay posted for pictures of my new Daring Cooking!!

Joined the Daring Kitchen!

December 31st, 2010
New Years Eve I joined an online group called
At The Daring Kitchen recipes are posted monthly to try. In order to be a a member of their site you have to participate in 8 out of 12 months of challenges. I thought it would be a great way for me to learn more in the kitchen. When I married 17 years ago I really did not know how to cook a whole heck of a lot of things. I have managed through the years learning recipes, trying new ones, but I have always wanted to challenge myself more in the kitchen. I joined the Pampered Chef and quit twice. I am looking forward to the challenges The Daring Kitchen places before me.

We discovered this breakfast from Jimmy's Egg. It is called Biscuit Debris. My hubby wanted to make it ourselves at home since it always had some sort of a weird wang to it at the restaurant or I would have liked it better. The homemade version was absolutely delicious! There was no way possible to eat this plateful my hubby loaded me down with.

Dutch Oven Cooking

Okay, so I am definitely no Annie Oakley, not a  Lewis & Clark either. I don't know which one them cooked but my version of Pineapple Upside down cake in the Dutch Oven just didn't have that yummy goodness flavor I was going for, It could have had something to do with the fact that it was charred on top.  Not to mention I don't like the flavor of cooked Pineapple's. But I wanted to get some practice in the DO before we went camping again. And once it was cleaned up it was placed back in it's cubby hole to try again at another time.

When all else fails in the DO,  I can always make a darn good Pizza!
