Iced Sugar Cookies

Every holiday season my husband has one requested cookie, just like Santa his favorite is the Iced Sugar cookie. I usually break out the gazillion cookie cutters in my collection and make lots of different shapes but last year I decided to use a cutter I had never used that was a freebie from a Tupperware party years ago, the cutter has 4 shapes but they are not even an inch in diameter so I never really knew what to use it for, and then it hit me like the high winds of Wyoming to put a star on the iced holiday tree and they turned out fabulous, if I say so myself! Because of the awesome luck I had last holiday with this idea I decided this year to stick with only one cookie cutter, the holiday tree.

I always try to make at least one recipe during the holidays that I had never tried before and this time around for my new dessert treat recipe I decided to try the Cream Cheese Mints, shown above in the mint green and pink stars. I am assuming they were suppose to firm up but today they are still not firm, tasty but gooey.

Recipe is here: Cream Cheese Mints

One holiday treat tradition passed down from my mother is the Buckeye Candies. Who doesn't love Reese's Peanut Butter cups, well these taste almost exact! They turned out awesome! I actually ran out of chocolate to dip them in, my mother's recipe could be used for an Army, I think!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday with friends or family and may you have a very happy healthy prosperous New Year 2016!

Stuffed Meatballs

It's what's for dinner! I tried this new sauce I seen at the grocery store Bertolli Porcini & White Truffle Oil and I wasn't real hip on the flavor with my spaghetti and stuffed meatballs. The meatballs on the other hand were amazing!
